Behind 8hours


 



8hours has been initiated by Dan Jørgensen, member of the European Parliament and head of delegation for the Danish Social Democrats.

Dan Jørgensen is very engaged in animal welfare legislation and has been working specifically to end long animal transports across Europe since he was elected to the European Parliament in 2004.

 

He is the vice chairman of the European Parliament´s Intergroup for animal welfare.

Christa Blanke is a theologian and natural health practitioner for psychotherapy. She has been working on behalf of the animals for many years. In 1998, she founded the association Animals’ Angels e.V.

 
Animals’ Angels is a charitable association headquartered in Germany whose objective is to end long-distance transports. Their motto: We are there with the animals. Animals’ Angels accompanies the animals along the roads of Europe  and investigates on location at slaughterhouses, ports, supply and border stations, and animal markets.
