“The current EU legislation on animal transport is unacceptable and the European Commission's objective should be to ensure high standards of welfare for transported animals. They should be treated in a respectful way at all stages of a journey. This requires well-maintained vehicles, designed with animal welfare in mind, and professional handling by properly trained and competent personnel.

Therefore I support the 8hours transport limit and I encourage Austrian and EU citizens to support this campaign; as Abraham Lincoln once said: "I am in favour of animal rights as well as human rights. That is the way of a whole human being."
