"It is not acceptable, that animals have to suffer just to satisfy the big companies` profit seeking and the consumers` demand for cheap meat. Furthermore long animal transports are not only cruelty to animals, but are also harming the environment for no good reason. In my opinion the regional supply chains for food and especially meat should be strengthened; if possibly our food should come from the regions we live in. Therefore I support the joint initiative of Animals` Angels and Dan Jørgensen to limit the duration of animal transports to a maximum of 8 hours."

"Es ist unakzeptabel, dass Tiere Leiden müssen nur um das Profitstreben großer Konzerne und die Nachfrage nach billigem Fleisch auf Konsumentenseite zu befriedigen. Zudem sind lange Tiertransporte nicht nur Tierquälerei, sondern schädigen auch die Umwelt, ohne dass es dafür einen guten Grund geben würde. In meinen Augen muss die lokale Versorgung mit Lebensmitteln und insbesondere Fleisch ausgebaut werden; soweit möglich sollten wir unsere Nahrungsmittel aus der eigenen Region beziehen. Ich unterstütze deshalb die gemeinsame Initiative von Animals`Angels und Dan Jørgensen die Dauer von Tiertransporten auf maximal 8 Stunden zu begrenzen."
