„My main concerns as a Vice-president of the Animal-Welfare-Intergroup are to accord animal welfare more significance in European politics and to guarantee animals in Europe a dignified life. This is why I am supporting the initiative "8.hours". Animals often have to suffer agonies while their transportations. It is time to reduce the transportation time of animals and especially to assure the welfare and the protection of animals, before, while and after the transportation.

“Als Vizepräsident der Animal-Welfare-Intergroup ist es mir ein besonderes Anliegen dem Tierschutz auf europäischer Ebene einen höheren Stellenwert einzuräumen und den Tieren in Europa ein würdiges Leben zu garantieren. Aus diesem Grund unterstütze ich auch die Initiative "8.hours". Tiere leiden oft Höllenqualen bei Transporten. Es ist nun endlich an der Zeit, die Dauer der Tiertransporte zu regeln sowie den Schutz und das Wohl der Tiere vor, während und nach dem Transport zu gewährleisten.
